Privacy Policy

1. Photos you upload
When you scan a stain, the photo is compressed on your device and uploaded to our private cloud storage. The image is sent to a third-party AI vision provider solely to identify the stain and surface material. Photos are stored in a private bucket that only your account can read, and they are never published, sold, or used for advertising. Deleting a scan or your account deletes the underlying photo.
2. Email collected through our guides
If you request the Free Stain Removal Cheat Sheet, we store your email address, the guide you requested it from, your consent, and the time of submission. We use it to send the cheat sheet and occasional stain-care emails. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
3. Scan history and account data
Your account (email and authentication records), your onboarding answers, and each scan result — stain type, surface type, removal steps, confidence, warnings and timestamps — are stored in our database and protected by row-level security so only your account can access them. We also store a device identifier to enforce our one-free-scan limit and to prevent abuse.
4. Purchase data
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymised customer identifier and your purchase and entitlement status. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
5. Support, feedback and expert requests
Messages you send through the in-app support form, "did this work?" feedback (including any follow-up photo), and Expert Review or professional-referral requests are stored with your account so we can respond.
6. Analytics and attribution
If install-attribution SDKs are enabled in a future release, iOS users are shown Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking code runs, and tracking only occurs with your permission.
7. Data deletion requests
You can delete everything yourself: open Settings and tap Delete My Account. This removes your scans, stored photos, feedback, support messages, expert requests, profile and login, and detaches your purchase record. You can also email privacy@stainidentifier.app with the subject "Data deletion request"; we action verified requests within 30 days. Cancelling billing must also be done in your Apple or Google account settings.
8. Retention and children
We keep scan data until you delete it or your account. Lead emails are kept until you unsubscribe. The app is not intended for children under 13.
